Dermatology

Skin problems can cause significant distress to some patients and quick and effective treatment is extremely important. Whether it’s acne/rosacea, skin rashes like eczema and psoriasis or worrying moles and skin lesions we can help you diagnose and manage these problems. Other troublesome skin complaints also include lumps and bumps, warts and skin tags.

Please book a 30 minute appointment for a skin assessment with Dr Pemsel. If any procedures are deemed necessary then they are likely to take place on another date after your initial appointment.

Mole Mapping

Mole mapping is a specialist procedure used for monitoring changes in moles and skin lesions over time. This technique is crucial in the early detection of malignant melanoma and other types of skin cancer, for example basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

During a mole mapping appointment, detailed images of the patient’s skin lesions are taken using a dermatoscope. The size, shape, and location of moles and skin lesions are recorded on secure computer software. These images serve as a baseline for comparison in future examinations. Any significant changes in the appearance or number of moles can be easily identified, allowing timely intervention if necessary.

By offering a comprehensive view of the skin’s surface, mole mapping enhances the accuracy and efficiency of skin cancer detection, contributing to improved prognosis and treatment outcomes for patients.

CryoPen® Treatment at The Grosvenor Practice

We offer CryoPen® — a precise, fast, and effective treatment for removing benign skin lesions, such as skin tags, warts, verrucae, milia, and pigmented spots. CryoPen® uses a targeted jet of nitrous oxide to freeze and destroy unwanted tissue with minimal discomfort and no damage to surrounding skin.

Treatment is quick, virtually painless, and requires no special aftercare. Most minor lesions can be treated in a single session, with healing usually taking place within a few weeks.

Consultations and treatments are carried out by Dr Pemsel at New Hall Hospital, Salisbury, giving you the reassurance of a medical setting.
